By the time you have finished this tutorial you'll be cubing your own piece of fruit.
This is what we are going to make:
Advice
Select a nice picture of an apple, I used a stock free image.
To make it easier on yourself choose an image without a busy background, and a single bit of fruit.
Step 1: Duplicating & Renaming
Duplicate the image: right click on your image in the layers palette, then duplicate.
Rename to Cubed, in my case I renamed it Cubed Apple
Select Cubed Layer & hide the original image.
Step 2: Marquee
Select Rectangular marquee tool
Step 3: Creating a selection
Draw a rectangular, from the side to a space before the stem.
Step 4: Straighting
Then select Move Tool and hit ctrl-T. Move from left to right untill you think the shape is straight enough. To deselect double click somewhere outside the marquee.
Step 5: Repeating steps
Do the same with the right, bottom & top side of your image.(Step 2,3 & 4)
Delete your original image.
Step 6: Image is ready
Et voila, your round apple has become a new kind of fruit, a cubed apple.
I hope you liked this tutorial and I would love to to see how you cubed your fruit.
