In this Adobe Photoshop tutorial you will see how to make a glass orb out of an image of the french flag.

1.
First of start by dragging an image of the french flag into you empty stage.

With the elliptical selection tool drag a selection on the flag.
Hold down shift and ctrl, hit the i key to invert the selection, then hit delete to delete the outer part.

Go to edit -> stroke and give it a small black stroke around the flag.

Double click the shape layer to get to the layers style panel and give it settings as shown in the image below.

Hold down ctrl and click the elliptical shape layer to load the selection, then make a new layer above it and name it reflection.
With the elliptrical selection tool and selection mode subtract from selection drag accross the selection as shown below.

6.
Make a gradient going from white to transparent, drag it in the selection, then go to filter -> blur -> gaussian blur and blur the reflection about 20.

And we are done.
