Create a document in Photoshop with the size you want on your logo. I choose 500x100px.
Use the Gradient Tool to create a background:
Take the text tool and write something with a nice font and the color #ffb11a, i use Alba:
Now apply these Layer styles:
Drop Shadow
Outer Glow
Gradient Overlay
Stroke
Now you should have something like this:
Duplicate the text layer and hide the effects. Rigtclick and choose Rasterize Type.
Go to Edit->Transform->Flip Vertical. Move the text copy layer down so its under the other text layer.
Take the Rectangular Marquee Tool, set Feather to 10px and draw a rectangular like this and press Delete:
The result become very good:
