In this Photoshop tutorial we are going to make an Orb Button

Start out by making a new document. Click on the [ Rounded Rectangle Tool (U) ]

Use #747474 for the color.

Use [ Elliptical Marquee Tool (M) ] to make a selection as shown.

Highlight rounded rectangle layer and right click on selection area and click on [ Layer via Cut ].

Now we are going to make style of new layer.
Double click the layer or go to Layers->Blending options and apply settings as shown.

Your result should be image below:

Click on [ Elliptical Marquee Tool (M) ].

In this layer make a selection as shown and press delete key.

Result:

Now, while deleted are is selected make a new layer by pressing Ctrl + Shift + N and fill it by any color you like.
Making Layer Style for orb
Double click the layer or go to Layers->Blending options and apply settings as shown.

Result:

Click on [ Brush Tool (B) ] .
Choose an smooth brush and use white color to add gloss to your button.

Your orb should be like this:

Now Right click on the shown area and select button layer.
