2. Duplicate the image 4 times giving you a total of 5 layers. Leave the bottom layer as it is but apply Mosaic to the 2nd from bottom layer, Go to Filter > Pixelate > Mosaic. Set the cell size to 5.

3. Do the same with 3rd layer from bottom, but set the cell size to 10

4. Set the 4th layer from bottom to 20 pixels.

6. Save the image, and then open it up in Image Ready. Make all the layers invisible apart from the clear bottom one. Set the delay of the 1st frame to 1 second and then duplicate the frame. Set the duplicates delay to 0.1 second and then make the 2nd from bottom layer to be visible.

7. Make another frame and then make the 3rd layer from bottom visible.

8. Do this until you’ve made 5 frames and the top layer is visible.

9. Now you’re going to make the animation return to a clear image. Make a 6th frame and the top layer invisible so that the 2nd layer is now showing.

10. Continue to add frames and making the each layer invisible unti you reach 8 frames and the 2nd from bottom layer is visible.

11. Finally open the optimize panel and then set the colours to 32, so that the gif won’t be too large. Go to file / save optimized as, and save the file.
