Dark Blue Layout

Step 1

Open a new document sized 800x800px. Name your first layer 'bg'. Fill the background with #3f3f3f. Make a group called 'banner', this is where we will be putting all our banner layers, in this new group make a new layer called 'bg' and make a selection of 800x110px with the Rectangular Marquee Tool a 100 or so pixels from the top of your document. Fill with #366288.




Step 2

Make a new layer named 'bgshine' and select 'bg', and deselect the bottom half of it and fill with #ffffff, set the opacity to 5%. Add some text, I chose Toon Town Industrial, size 36. Make a new layer named 'topbanner' and make a 800x5px selection above the banner and make a gradient from #1d1d1e to #3f3f3f.




Step 3

Make a new group inside the group 'banner' named 'links', and make a layer 'bg', now apply a gradient from #2a2a2a to #3f3f3f. Add a layer called 'under' which will be shown on rollover, and add some text for the links.




Step 4

Make a new group under the 'banner' group named 'footer'. New layer named 'bg', and at the bottom of the document apply a gradient in a selection of 800x40px, from #3f3f3f to #2a2a2a. Add some text to the footer, and make a new layer named 'topfooter' which is 800x5px, with a gradient of #2a2a2a to #1d1e1e.




Step 5

Make a new layer named 'bg' with the selection of 5px under the top links down to the bottom of the document filled with #2a2a2a. Now to make the content boxes, make a new group directly under the group 'footer' named 'navigationbox' and make a new layer named 'bg' and fill the selection of 200x250px with #3f3f3f, add a 1px stroke of #151515 to this layer.




Step 6

Create a new layer named 'top' filled with #366288 in a selection of 200x300, add a 1px stroke of #151515 to this layer. Create a new layer named 'topshine', and with the selection of the layer 'top' fill with #ffffff of a selection of the top half of the layer 'top'. Add some text, colour #ffffff.




Step 7

Repeat the last two steps so that you get a content box on the right hand side.
