In this tutorial you will learn how to create a speech-bubble like logo which is very popular at the moment for web 2.0 start-ups or 'applications'.

Step 1:

Draw an ellipse with the hex color (as in the picture below.)

Step 2:

Add a 3px stroke with the hex color (as in the picture below). This can be thicker but not thinner as it will lose its web 2.0 look.

Step 3:

Add a new white ellipse the shape of a highlight (as seen below).

Step 4:

Apply a 'layer mask' (see first green highlight below), then create a gradient with white to black.

Step 5:

Duplicate the first ellipse and change the fill colour to the hex code in the image below. Move this shape behind the first shape. Nudge this new red shape down a bit so that it is in a similar position shown by the grene outline below.

Step 6:

Using the pen tool create the point that leads from the source. Make this the colour of the hex code in the image below.

Step 7:

Add the initials or name of the product or service inside the bubble.

Step 8:

Duplicate this layer, set it behind the first text layer and change the colour to black and the opacity to about 10%. Nudge this text layer down to the position of the green outline.

Final:

This is it! Easy isn't it? Now you have a web 2.0 logo for communication related products or services.
