Creating a football and using it for a text effect

Start by creating an ellipse using elliptical shape tool.
Double click the layer to open layer style window. Apply layer style with the settings shown.

Create a pentagon using polygon shape tool.
Create another pentagon using polygon shape tool. Press Ctrl+T. Rotate it and squeeze a bit. Place as shown in the image below.

Similarly create more pentagon shapes. Rotate, distort and place as shown.

Type "football fever" with a nice font.
Double click the layer to open layer style window. Apply layer style with the settings shown.

 
Replace the OO's with two instances of football.
