Hypnotic Text Animation Tutorial:

1. New Document (Any Size Works, as long as you can fit a word in there)

2. Fill it with a Medium Grey. I used “#6A6A6A”

3. Now, take a bold Font (I’m using ‘Arial Black’) and type a word on the canvas (Color doesn’t matter)

4. Now go to the Text Layer’s , Layer Styles, and use the following.

For Stroke:

Change the Color to ‘Black’ leave every thing else, default.

5. Now, Ctrl+Click on the Text layer (This should put a selection around the text) and without deselecting the text, click on the bottom layer, and press Delete.

6. Also change the Blending Option from “Normal” to “Overlay”

7. Now, Make a new Document “File > New” make it the same Height as your other one, just double the width. So for me, my first one is 250x250, so for this new one, I’ll want it to be 500x250.

8. Now, for this, you’ll want to grab the Rectangular Marquee tool. (Top left on the toolbar) and make a selection like the one shown in the picture.

9. Now fill in that selection with White. Then grab the Rectangular Marquee Tool again, and move the selection right next to the white block. And fill it with Black

10. Continue the process until you have something that looks like this.

11. Now, its time to drag that layer into our first document. So go over to your Layer’s palette, press and hold the layer and drop It into the first document. (Also make sure you put the layer on the very bottom of the layers palette.

12. Now before we switch over to ImageReady, be sure that you line up your hypno lines correctly. Its best to have it orderly before we go to imageready.

This is how mine Looks:

13. Now, Click the “Send to ImageReady Button” at the very bottom of the Toolbar.

14. Once in ImageReady, you should see an Animation Table, with a single frame on it. (If you don’t see this, than go “Window > Animation”)

15. Now, press the duplicate Frame button on the Animation table.

16. First of all, Uncheck the visibility of the grey layer (The little eye next to the layer) , for right now. (This way you can see where the hypno lines are going.

17. Once you’ve unchecked the visibility, grab your “Move Tool” and grab your Hypno lines, and pull them all the way to the left (or all the way to the right, depending on where you positioned them)

18. Now, re-check the eye, on the Grey layer, and select the first frame of your animation (there should only be 2 frames right now) Now, click the Tween Button.

19. Use the following Tween settings:

20. Now press Ok, and Press the Play Button! You should have something like this as a result.

Remember, In order to keep the animation while saving, Save it like this, "File > Save Optimized"
