Intro:
This photoshop tutorial will show you on how to make a plastic peel off effect, just like when you peel off the protection sticker from your dvd player display or mobile phone.
Download the image I'm using here, it's an image of Mischa Barton.
Step 1:
Unlock the image in the layers window by doubleclicking it, then duplicate the layer (duplicate > duplicate layer..)
Press ctrl+T to go into free transform mode, now you can resize the image but we don't want that. We want to make the pagecurl with the free transform WARP mode, click this icon in your toptoolbar to go into warp mode.
Step 2:
You should see more rectangulars then you normally do in free transform mode.
Now go with your mouse to the top left corner on the little square, your cursor changes from color and shape!
Now hold the left mouse button and drag the corner to where you like, or do excactly the same as me, shown below.

You should now have something like this:
Step 3:
Now we're going to make it more seethru so it looks like a transparant peeloff thingy.
Use the following settings on the peeloff layer:
Mode: Screen
Opacity: 63%
This can all be done in the layers window.
Step 4:
You notice at the bottom right of the image the blue gets really strong, it is just to much, but we can fix this very nicely with a Layer mask.
Click this icon in the layers pallette to create a layer mask

Get the gradient tool

Then get the black to white gradient

and drag a gradient from bottom right into the curl, now you should have a nice plastic peel off with a smooth transaction in the bottom right.
