Creating a conceptual animation showing growth

Start by creating a rectangle using rectangular shape tool.

Press Ctrl+T. Right click the layer and select distort. Adjust nodes as shown.

Double click the layer and apply layer style as shown.

Similarly create top part of the pot.

Create an circle using elliptical shape tool.
Create a petal of flower using pen tool.
Duplicate the layer and press Ctrl+T. Move the anchor point using move tool and place it at the center of circle. Rotate as shown in the image.
Press Ctrl+J and Ctrl+Shift+T 4 times to complete the flower.
Select all the flower layers and press Ctrl+G to group. Select the group. Press Ctrl+T. Right click the layer and select distort.
Duplicate the group and scale it down. Hide the first group.

Create a stem for the flower using pen tool.
Create a watering pan using pen tool in a new layer.

 

Create some random vertical lines using line tool.

 

Press Ctrl+T. Right click and select warp.
Adjust nodes to create a shape like this.
Select upper drops of the water. Press Ctrl+X to cut and Ctrl+V to paste in a new layer.
Similarly select more portions of the water drops layer and cut and paste in new layers.
Add a gradient to the background layer.
Open animation window. For the first frame select flower and stem layer. Move the flower and stem down wards so that it's completely behind the pot. Hide all water layers.
Duplicate the frame. Unhide the top water layer.
Duplicate the frame. Unhide the second water layer.
Similarly duplicate more frames. Unhide the water layer sequentially.
In fifth frame hide the top water layer and move the flower and stem slightly up.
In sixth frame hide more water layers and move the flower and stem upwards.
In seventh frame hide all the water layer and move the flower and stem upwards.
Similarly create more frames till the flower and stem comes out of the pot completely.
Duplicate one more frame, hide the small flower. Unhide the big flower.
Select the last frame. Press tweens animation frames button in the animation window.
Adjust settings as shown.
Adjust delay duration so the frames as shown.
Press Ctrl+Shift+Alt+S to save an optimized animated GIF.
